Kenya cut diesel prices after deadly protests over surging fuel costs, seeking to ease pressure on transport operators and households as unrest over the rising cost of living intensifies.

The authorities reduced the diesel price by 7% “following a petition by public transport sector operators” according to a statement issued by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority on Tuesday.
