Ecolab Starts Five-Part Bond Sale to Fund Acquisition of CoolIT

Ecolab Inc. is selling bonds in the US investment-grade market to help finance its $4.75 billion acquisition of CoolIT Systems Inc.

Ecolab is marketing the notes in as many as five parts, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. The longest portion of the offering, a 10-year security, may yield 0.95 percentage point above Treasuries, said the person, who asked not to be identified as the details are private.
