The World Health Organization convened a meeting of its emergency committee amid an urgent search for vaccines and medicines to combat a widening Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

The WHO will consult the committee on Tuesday for “temporary recommendations” on dealing with the rare Bundibugyo strain, which has no approved treatment and may have spread undetected for weeks.
