UBS Says Clients Expect Firms Axing Net Zero to Face Market Hit

The concept of net zero may be under siege in the US, but shareholders still worry that companies abandoning their emissions targets will be punished by markets, according to analysts at UBS Group AG.

In meetings with UBS analysts, investors made clear that they’re still monitoring corporate statements to assess whether achieving net zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2050 remains a goal, according to a note published by the Swiss bank after a recent staff trip to the US.
