Swedish nuclear startup Blykalla AB has submitted an application to the government to build six small reactors to help meet the anticipated growth in power demand in the decades ahead.

The project, located north of Stockholm, would have a total capacity of 330 megawatts and aims to begin generation in the early 2030s, Chief Executive Officer Jacob Stedman said in an interview Monday. About 80% to 85% of the project’s cost could be covered by state loans, and a separate application for that funding will be filed, he said.
