Jewish Group Seeks $1 Billion to Shield Buildings From Attacks

A string of attacks on synagogues and other Jewish institutions is prompting calls to more than triple the amount of federal assistance they can get to protect their buildings from future attacks.

The Jewish Federations of North America is flying in more than 400 community leaders to Capitol Hill Tuesday for over 200 meetings with lawmakers and staff to call for $1 billion for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, its leadership exclusively told Bloomberg Government.
