Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok rejected demands from new Prime Minister Peter Magyar to resign by the end of May, setting the stage for a legal battle in Budapest.

In an interview with local media outlet Index.hu on Monday, Sulyok said he intends to fulfill his mandate under the existing constitutional framework.
