Germany Plans to Invest €10 Billion in Civil Protection Measures

Germany is seeking to invest €10 billion ($11.6 billion) to improve civil protection over the coming years, including in additional bunkers and an app to warn citizens about finding the nearest shelter in case of war or natural disaster.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s cabinet aims to pass the legislation during its next meeting on Wednesday, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt told reporters Monday.
