European Markets Watchdog Shortlists Six Officials for Top Job

The European Securities and Markets Authority has drawn up a shortlist of six candidates to lead the watchdog that’s set to be handed beefed-up powers.

ESMA’s board will interview the candidates on Wednesday, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity. A spokeswoman for the European Union authority declined to comment.
