Daily passenger trains between the capitals of Georgia and Azerbaijan are set to resume after an absence of six years as the two Caucasus countries move to expand transport and energy cooperation.

The service, suspended in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, is due to restart on May 26, the Georgian government said in a statement.
