Bank Analyst Who Was StanChart’s Longtime Critic Is Now CFO
Standard Chartered Plc named Manus Costello as its new chief financial officer, promoting a former research analyst and critic of the bank to replace Diego De Giorgi following his abrupt departure in February.
The 50-year-old assumes the role immediately and will be based in London, according to a statement. He joined Standard Chartered in 2024 as global head of investor relations after a career co-founding and overseeing research at Autonomous Research, where his coverage included both Standard Chartered and larger rival HSBC Holdings Plc.
