Europe shouldn’t take the Kremlin’s bait by engaging in direct talks with Russia at a time when Ukraine has gained the upper hand in its fight, Estonia’s top diplomat warned.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said Moscow has intensified outreach to European nations as its economy falters and its military struggles to make progress in the fifth year of the full-scale invasion. The response should be to ratchet up sanctions, not to help Moscow find an off-ramp, according to the minister.
