Pemex CEO Resigns; Sheinbaum Names CFO as New Leader

Petroleos Mexicanos Chief Executive Officer Víctor Rodríguez Padilla is stepping down as head of the state oil company and will be replaced by Juan Carlos Carpio, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a video posted on X.

The company’s board still needs to approve the appointment. Carpio was serving as Pemex’s chief financial officer.
