Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar is opening Viktor Orban’s offices to the public to dismantle the symbols of his predecessor’s rule as part of efforts to tackle costly building projects around Buda castle.

Orban’s lavish reconstruction of the district, including the office in Carmelite Monastery, became emblematic of his 16-year rule. The new Tisza-party cabinet is beginning to trim back overpriced projects started by the ex-premier, which Magyar blamed for pushing the budget into a “disgracefulBloomberg Terminal” state by the time he took over late last week.
