Several key allies of former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Marty Makary are departing their posts, according to people familiar with the matter, as the Trump administration attempts to create a clean slate at the agency.

The personnel shake-up, which includes the lead drug and vaccine regulators, signals a desire by the Trump administration to stabilize the health agency. Kyle Diamantas, who ran the FDA’s food center and was recently promoted to be an adviser to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is currently serving as acting FDA commissioner while the administration searches for a permanent replacement.
