Democrats Press US Airlines for Information on Fare, Fee Hikes

A group of Democratic senators is pressing major US airlines for information on increases in airfares and luggage fees in response to the war in the Middle East.

“Americans are paying the high price for President Trump’s war,” the senators, including Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Richard Blumenthal and Martin Heinrich said in letters sent Thursday to the chief executives of Delta Air Lines Inc., American Airlines Group Inc., United Airlines Holdings Inc., Southwest Airlines Co., JetBlue Airways Corp. and Alaska Air Group Inc.
