Yen Briefly Rallies as Traders Eye Japan Intervention Risk

The yen jumped against the dollar on Thursday before falling back as currency traders brace for possible action by Japanese authorities to support the currency.

The Japanese currency abruptly gained nearly one yen, bouncing off of the 158 per dollar mark and rising as much as 0.3% to 157.32 in US morning trade, before erasing the move and easing back near 158.
