Trump Tells Xi US-China Relations Will Be ‘Better Than Ever’

Donald Trump said China and the US will have a “fantastic future” and Xi Jinping stressed partnership over rivalry in a meeting, setting a positive tone for the first visit by a sitting US president to Beijing in nearly a decade.

“We should be partners, not rivals,” Xi said in his opening remarks. “We should help each other succeed and prosper together and find the right way for major countries to get along well with each other in the new era.”
