Opposition Seeks US Sanctions for Uganda’s Seventh-Term Leader
Self-exiled Ugandan opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi is making the rounds in Washington urging US senators to press for targeted sanctions against his country’s octogenarian leader, who’s just been sworn in for a seventh term in office.
The musician-turned-politician better known as Bobi Wine fled Uganda earlier this year after a second unsuccessfully ballot attempt to unseat Yoweri Museveni, who’s been in power for four decades.
