The Massachusetts Institute of Technology reported major declines in federal research funding and graduate-school enrollment after the Trump administration targeted top colleges across the US.

Campus research funded by federal money is down by more than 20% compared with this time last year, MIT President Sally Kornbluth said in a message Thursday. New awards are down by a similar amount, she said.
