India Condemns Attack and Sinking of Ship in Gulf of Oman
India has condemned an attack that set a cargo vessel ablaze before sinking it in the Gulf of Oman early on Wednesday, calling the incident “unacceptable.”
The Haji Ali, an India-flagged, wooden ship, was attacked while en route from Somalia to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, said Mukesh Mangal, an additional secretary at India’s shipping ministry, told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday. “All 14 crew members were rescued by the Omani Coast Guard,” he said.
