Hungary summoned the Russian ambassador to protest recent attacks on Ukraine, setting a sharp break from the pro-Kremlin tenor of Viktor Orban’s 16-year rule.

Foreign Minister Anita Orban, who’s unrelated to the previous premier, met Russian Ambassador Evgeny Stanislavov in Budapest on Thursday after Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar condemned what he described as the most intense barrage of drone attacks against western Ukraine, a region home to an ethnic Hungarian minority.
