Appian Buys Namibia Copper Project Eyeing $400 Million Mine

Appian Capital Advisory, a leading mining-focused private equity firm, has acquired a copper project in Namibia as it looks to boost output of a metal that’s expected to experience rapid demand growth.

Appian has bought a 95% stake in the Omitiomire asset which it plans to bring into production within three years, according to Chief Executive Officer Michael Scherb. “Half the world is chasing copper at the moment,” he said in an interview.
