Volkswagen, Rafael Near Deal For Iron Dome Production in Germany

Volkswagen AG and Israeli defense manufacturer Rafael Advanced Defense Systems are nearing a deal to form a joint venture until the end of the year to produce parts of the Iron Dome air defense system in Germany.

Rafael Chief Executive Officer Yoav Tourgeman met government officials in Berlin and VW representatives in Wolfsburg this week to discuss the details of the planned defense cooperation, according to people familiar with the matter.
