NZ Can’t Rely on Geographic Isolation for Security, Luxon Says

New Zealand can no longer assume its isolated location and “quiet reputation” will protect it and must instead boost its national resilience and security to navigate volatile geopolitics, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said.

Speaking to a business audience in Auckland on Wednesday, Luxon said the nation is living through an inflection point in history and for now a “new multipolar international system appears to be emerging.”
