Lula Retakes Slim Lead Over Flavio Bolsonaro Before Brazil Vote
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Senator Flavio Bolsonaro are neck and neck ahead of Brazil’s October election, with a new poll giving the incumbent a slight edge.
Lula would take 42% of the vote in a run-off scenario, compared to 41% for Flavio, the son of right-wing former President Jair Bolsonaro, according to a Genial/Quaest survey published Wednesday. Both candidates’ movements were within the poll’s 2 percentage-point margin of error.
