Gunshots Heard at Philippine Senate Where Lawmaker Is Trapped

Gunshots were heard at the Philippine Senate on Wednesday evening where a lawmaker wanted by the International Criminal Court is holed up, according to live streamed footage from local media.

“We are allegedly under attack. The sergeant at arms confirm there were shots made here,” Senate leader Alan Peter Cayetano said via local media One News. Tensions heightened in the Senate building late Wednesday as armed personnel showed up, according to local radio.
