Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said he sent a subpoena to the National Football League over its flagship employment diversity policy after the organization refused his demand to drop it.

“The Rooney Rule and the NFL’s related ‘inclusive hiring’ policies — and the NFL’s representations about those policies — continue to raise significant concerns under Florida law,” Uthmeier wrote in a letter on Wednesday.
