Czechs Say Monetary Policy Still Tight After Jump in Inflation

Czech monetary policy is still restrictive even after an acceleration in inflation due to the fallout of the Iran war, although price risks require more caution, according to the central bank.

Headline consumer price growth quickened to 2.5% in April, driven mainly by more expensive fuels that added almost 30% over the past two months, the Prague-based bank said in a statement.
