UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer survived in post into Tuesday evening despite a slew of ministerial resignations which have so far failed to force his downfall.

Some 90 Labour Members of Parliament, including four junior ministers who quit their posts, called for the premier to stand down, saying they believed the governing party needs new leadership in order to turn around its fortunes after a disastrous set of local election results last week.
