Italian Government Convenes Talks on Electrolux Job Cuts
Italy’s government will hold talks with labor unions and regional officials to discuss Electrolux AB’s plan to eliminate about 1,700 jobs at its Italian facilities.
Industry Minister Adolfo Urso convened the May 25 meeting in response to the Swedish appliance maker’s announcement Monday, which prompted the FIOM-CGIL union to declare strike action at the five Italian plants and call on the government to urgently intervene.
