EDF Said to Plan Sale of Chinese Renewables Amid Nuclear Shift

Electricite de France SA is working with an adviser to sell its renewable energy assets in China as the French state-owned utility refocuses on European nuclear power projects, people familiar with the matter said.

EDF’s wind and solar assets in China could fetch more than $500 million, some of the people said, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information. The company is sounding out potential interest from bidders including Chinese firms, but the sale is in its early stages and there’s no certainty the process will lead to a deal, the people said.
