Canadian travel to the US posted its first increase since the end of 2024, though the rebound is modest and largely reflects a comparison with low cross-border trips last year.

Return trips by Canadian residents from the US by car and air rose 1.4% in April from the same month a year earlier, according to preliminary data released Monday by Statistics Canada. The gain marks the first year-over-year increase since December 2024, the month before Donald Trump returned to the White House.
