Rayner Urges Starmer to Change Course After Election Losses

Angela Rayner, one of the potential contenders in any UK leadership contest, warned Prime Minister Keir Starmer he had to urgently change the direction of his government in an intervention that will be seen as setting out her stall in the event of a contest.

Rayner also said it was a mistake for Starmer to have blocked Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham from standing in a special election earlier this year that could have heralded his return to parliament.
