Senegal MPs Pass Electoral Reform, Clearing Sonko Presidency Bid

Senegalese lawmakers voted for an electoral code amendment that is widely seen as clearing the way for Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to run in the next presidential election.

The West African country’s parliament passed the law for a second time after President Bassirou Diomaye Faye repelled it the first time over what he described as a technical issue.
