TSMC and Sony to Form Joint Venture on Image Sensors

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation are planning to form a joint venture to build next-generation image sensors.

Sony will be the controlling shareholder and set up production lines in its newly constructed fab in Kumamoto Prefecture, according to a joint statement.
