Canadian rapper Drake helped Venezia FC secure new investments as the football club he co-owns prepares to compete in Italy’s top tier.

Venezia FC said an investment vehicle led by live-event veteran Tim Leiweke — formerly chief executive of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. — and his daughter Francesca Bodie contributed to a €100 million ($118 million) fundraising.
