Expedia Revenue Beat Shows Middle East Resilience, Eyes World Cup
Expedia Group Inc. posted quarterly revenue that came in slightly ahead of estimates as it overcame Middle East-related travel disruptions and flagged healthy demand from this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
The online travel company reported on Thursday first-quarter revenue of $3.43 billion, up 15% from a year earlier and above the consensus estimate of $3.35 billion. Expedia also forecast second-quarter revenue of $4.11 billion to $4.19 billion, compared with Wall Street expectations of $4.12 billion.
