US to Close Mission in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Security Concerns

The US State Department announced a phased shut down of its Consulate General in Pakistan’s Northwest Peshawar on safety concerns to its diplomats.

“This decision reflects our commitment to the safety of our diplomatic personnel and efficient resource management,” according to a statement on the State Department’s website.
