Norges Bank Faces Close Call as Riksbank Watches: Decision Guide

Central banks in Sweden and Norway are both set to keep borrowing costs steady this week, albeit against inflation backdrops that contrast starkly between each neighbor.

The Riksbank decision in Stockholm will almost certainly result in an unchanged interest rate at 1.75% on Thursday, as officials patiently gauge fallout from the Iran war. The Norges Bank outcome half an hour later is a closer call, though most economists reckon policymakers will opt against a hike from the current benchmark level of 4%.
