Google Makes EU Offer to Avert Fines in News Search Case
Google has proposed changes to how it displays news results across its search engine in a bid to avoid adding to its €9.5 billion ($11.2 billion) running total of European Union competition fines.
The US tech giant recently filed proposals to address concerns it was deliberately pushing down results for publishers’ websites when they include adverts from some of their commercial partners, according to people familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity.
