Home sales in Toronto posted their biggest increase in nine months as lower prices finally began to lure buyers back to the market.

The number of homes that traded hands in April rose 6.1% from the month before, according to seasonally adjusted data released Tuesday by the Toronto Regional Real Estate board. That outpaced a 3.7% gain in new listings and helped bring a 10-month slide in home prices to an end.
