Reeves Enjoys Good Ties With Bessent, UK Says After Clash Over Iran

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves enjoys a “good relationship” with her US counterpart Scott Bessent, a spokesman for the UK government said following a Financial Times report that the two finance ministers argued in Washington last month.

“They have had constructive conversations together since the Chancellor’s visits to Washington,” the spokesman, Tom Wells, said on Tuesday, telling journalists that the US Treasury had “made clear the productive nature” of Reeves’ relationship with Bessent.
