Pakistan’s trade deficit increased to nearly four-year high adding strain to the fragile economy and thin foreign exchange reserves.

Trade deficit rose to $4.07 billion in April, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data released Tuesday. That compares with a $2.99 billion deficit forecast by economists in a Bloomberg survey and a revised reading of $2.84 billion in March.
