Indonesia’s economic growth accelerated to a three-year high in the first quarter, as a record increase in government spending helped support consumers in the face of a global energy crisis.

Gross domestic product rose 5.61% in the January-March period from a year earlier, the statistics agency said on Tuesday. That beat both the 5.4% median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists and the 5.39% growth print in October-December 2025.
