Asia Dollar Bond Sales Expected to Hold Strong After April Surge

Asia-Pacific’s dollar bond market is poised for steady issuance this month as borrowers capitalize on a post–US-Iran ceasefire lull that drove April volumes to a five-year high.

The region’s dollar bond market saw $38 billion of issuance last month, the busiest April since 2021, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That compares with $22 billion in March, when energy-sensitive Asian economies were hit by the outbreak of the Iran war even as global credit markets held steady.
