US special envoy to Greenland Jeff Landry is set to embark on his first trip to the Arctic island next month as tensions between Washington and Copenhagen remain strained.

Landry, governor of Louisiana, was appointed as envoy by President Donald Trump in December. He appears on the guest list for the Future Greenland business conference scheduled for May 19-20 in the territory’s capital, Nuuk.
