Banco Santander SA posted first-quarter profit that beat analyst estimates on strong lending revenue and fees.

Spain’s biggest lender reported net income of €5.5 billion ($6.4 billion) for the period, it said in a statement Wednesday. Analysts polled by Bloomberg had expected €4.97 billion.
