Euro Area Sentiment Falls as Confidence Weakens Across Sectors

Consumer confidence saw the sharpest decline, falling to -20.6 from -16.4 in March, the lowest since December 2022. Services sentiment dropped to 0.9 from 4.1, while manufacturing confidence edged lower to -7.7 from -7.0. The economic uncertainty indicator rose to 23.6 in April from 20.6 in March, signaling heightened anxiety about future economic conditions.
