China’s ‘Big Three’ Airlines Turn Profits With More Jets Coming
China’s “Big Three” airlines rebounded to profitability during the first quarter as a surge in passenger demand successfully offset the impact of soaring jet fuel prices. One of them also announced a massive jet order.
Flag carrier Air China Ltd. led the trio with a profit of 1.71 billion yuan ($250 million), a significant reversal from the loss of 2.04 billion yuan it reported a year ago.
